70% of all donations in the Coldest Night of the Year are disbursed to participating charity partners.
Approved charity partners raise money in the WALK by actively recruiting teams of walkers who register to participate and fundraise on their behalf. During registration, teams select the local charity they want to walk for, and that charity gets 70% of everything those teams raise on their behalf. Although the vast majority of teams who support partners will be local, each partner is free to recruit teams to walk for them at any of our WALK locations across Canada.
Approved location partners host and operate the Coldest Night of the Year under agreement and in operational partnership with Blue Sea Philanthropy (BSP),a Canadian not-for-profit pending charitable approval. BSP operates the WALK assuming responsibility for all operational, marketing, financial, service and location development in partnership with our select location charity partners.
